On September 7th we took a bus to the outskirts of the city.. well more like the suburbs, to a park called Parque Prado. Prado is also the name of the barrio in which it is located (barrio ~ district) The event, i believe, is going on for about a week and a half.

The event is a gathering of over 500 companies and livestock expositions, juras qualification, production contests, exhibitions, and various activities such as futbol matches.
To meat eaters.. its a pretty cool place to go, definitely not for the vegetarian/vegan crowd as even I became a bit upset with the condition of the animals. Don't get me wrong.. they all look alive and healthy, but are kept tied up all day long with little slack, and are WAY bigger than normal = genetic modification/hormone injection. But this is not my cultural so I am not here to judge, only to observe. I'm certain that the slaughter farms in the USA are much more disturbing. So if anything, shame on us.. but i still love me a nice steak or hamburger. sorry!

Gaucho is a term commonly used to describe residents of the South American pampas, chacos, or Patagonia grasslands, found principally in parts of Argentina, Uruguay, Southern Chile, and Southern Brasil.
More simply put.. Gauchos are kind of like our version of American cowboys/livestock farmers.
